1.The event will take place irrespective of weather conditions but the organisers reserve the right to cancel the event at any stage should they consider that it is not the interest of the participants.
2. To avoid congestion on the roads the start time for the rides will be: 06h55 - tandems ; 07h00 - 94km licenced riders ; 07h05- 94km non-licenced riders ; 07h20 - 46km ; 07h40 - 15km.
3. Entry fees are not refundable under any circumstances.
4. All road and traffic laws and the instructions of all traffic officers and/or marshals must be obeyed.
5. Wearing of approved cycling helmets is compulsory, in terms of traffic laws.
6. Riders must keep to the left of the road and must not cross the centre line.
7. Riders must pull off the road, and STOP to obtain refreshments or to do repairs. Clearly signal your intention to do so.
8. Riders must stop if so instructed by a Ride official.
9. Riders must show consideration to motorist, pedestrians and their fellow participants.
10. Children under 10 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible person.
11. Number must be prominently displayed low down on riders backs.
12. All decisions by timekeepers and Ride officials monitoring the event will be deemed final and binding. Any complaints must be referred to the Disciplinary Committee as soon as possible after the event for arbitration, together with a refundable fee of R50.
13. On completion of their ride participants must not ride their cycles anywhere near the finish line.
14. All support services will be withdrawn from the three routes at 12h00.
15. Failure to fully complete this form may render riders ineligible for a prize.
16. Entrants in the 94km Cycle Tour must observe the following conditions:
16.1 Conventional cycle only may be used. Tri- or time trial bars are not allowed.
16.2 No seconding of riders in any manner, from any vehicle is permitted.
16.3 Slip-streaming of any vehicle or bicycle other than that of other entrants is not allowed.
16.4 No racing in the neutral zones before and after the turn-around point at the Chalumna river.
17. A race referee will monitor the 94km ride.
18. The organisers reserve the right to disqualify riders who infringe any of the above Rules.
19. Any rider who decides to change the distance he/she is riding must inform the race organisers at least 30 minutes before the start of his/her race.
